Operation of sustainable accessible websites

Webmasters and content managers are responsible for the maintenance, updating and modification of an existing website. Even if this group need not develop the site from the beginning, all guidelines in relation to the production of a sustainable accessible website remain applicable.

Many chapters in the Development section have more relevance for web administrators who have to add pages and/or sections to the site, than for the group that only has to add or update content - for instance, text and images.

In this chapter, the most important points of attention are described for the following four areas. However, there are a number of other topics, for instance, the accessibility of the CMS per se, which are largely outside the scope of this manual. Should any doubt arise, we refer the web administrator to the requirements and the accompanying production guidelines for the construction of sustainably accessible websites.
