Who will inspect your website?
Ministry of the Interior, ICTU, Quality mark drempelvrij.nl Foundation and the inspection bodies
Various organisations are involved in the quality mark scheme for the Web Guidelines. Each organisation plays a distinct role.
Quality mark scheme Web Guidelines
The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations has commissioned the Web Guidelines (the set of rules government websites need to comply with). The Web Guidelines have been developed and are being administrated by the ICTU Foundation. The Ministry has also commissioned the so-called quality mark scheme of the Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl: the scheme for checking websites for compliance with Web Guidelines with the help of the normative document, so that a quality mark can indicate their compliance. This scheme is administrated by the Quality mark drempelvrij.nl Foundation. This foundation coordinates the inspection of websites and awards a quality mark at three levels: accessibility priority 1, accessibility priority 2 and Web Guidelines.
Inspection bodies
There are a number of organisations that are allowed to perform official inspections for the Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl Foundation. These organisations are usually called inspection bodies. The organisations must meet severe demands: they must be accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council. A list of organisations that have received accreditation for website inspections for Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl can be found at the website of the Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl Foundation (Dutch only).
